Uniss Mohamed Yusuf hit a magnificent 172 not out to lead Lall’s XI to a comprehensive 197- run win over the National Milling Company ( NMC) in their feature Twenty20 softball match played re cently under lights at the Georgetown Cricket Club ground, Bourda.
The right- handed Yusuf smacked 18 sixes and 10 fours as his team amassed a formidable 299- 7 at the expi ration of the 20 overs, while NMC, in reply, never threat ened the score and were eventually bundled out for 102 in the 17th over.
Mohindra Arjoon sup ported the rampant Yusuf with a cameo 55, which in cluded five sixes and two fours as Sherwin Gomes grabbed three wickets for 52 runs from his allotted four overs.
R. Mohamed made a fighting 48 for the losers, while Vicky Beharry chipped in with 25 as Wilfred Singh snatched six wickets for 10 runs from 1.5 overs includ ing a hat- trick to help de molished the innings.
The two teams are set to meet again in a second en counter at the same venue at a date to be announced.
