This was a rare state of affairs. Satiricus was an easy going soul. His motto was \u201ctek it easy\u201d. He thought Guyanese greatest contribution to world civilisation was the philosophy captured by the phrase, \u201cthrow back\u201d. But here he was, literally jumping up and down. It had to do with the CSEC exams and his son\u2019s results.<br \/>\n\u201cThe boy\u2019s at one of these pilot schools,\u201d he complained to the gang at the back-street dive. \u201cCan you believe the minister held back the boy\u2019s results?\u201d His voice rose in indignation.<br \/>\n\u201cJust your boy\u2019s results?\u201d enquired Suresh, sympathetically. \u201cWhy the picking on him? Like he one of the bad boys like his father been, eh?\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cThis is no time to make jokes, boy,\u201d said Satiricus sternly. \u201cThe boy and his mother are going to have a nervous breakdown soon, if the chap don\u2019t get his result.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cAnd lemme tell alyuh,\u201d laughed Cappo. \u201cWhen Sato\u2019s old lady cranky, is nothing fuh Sato!!\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cIs the same blasted thing I\u2019m saying,\u201d said Satiricus with some irritation. \u201cEverything is a skin-teeth with you chaps.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cOkay… Okay,\u201d said Kuldeep soothingly. \u201cLet\u2019s hear what\u2019s going on.\u201d He continued modestly, \u201cYou know my daughter got 10 grade ones from Queen\u2019s?\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cYes Kuldeep, I know, and congrats and so on,\u201d Satiricus continued. \u201cAnd that\u2019s the problem. Did she tell the children and the school this when she hand out the calculators?
