A woman, who attempted to smuggle marijuana in blue soap for her fiancé who is incarcerated at the Lusignan Prison has now found herself behind bars.
The 20-year-old woman visited the Lusignan Prison at about 15:30h on Tuesday to visit her fiancé who is in the holding bay area.
In a statement, Director of Prison Gladwin Samuels said that alert officers on duty conducted a detailed search on the soaps and found the marijuana concealed.
Police have since weighed the contraband, which amounted to 19 grams. The woman has since been taken into Police custody.
The Prison Director has since warned that persons should desist from smuggling prohibited items into the prison as there are serious consequences for such actions.
