Windies hit the ground running

Kingstown, St Vincent – A confident West Indies team arrived in St Vincent on Monday afternoon ready for the start of the five match Digicel One-Day International Series against Australia.

The Windies were entertained with steel pan music before heading to the team’s hotel. It was a typical warm Vincy welcome as the island prepares to host international cricket for the first time since 2010.

Speaking shortly after arrival, Team Manager Richie Richardson said the team had a superb time at the recent camp at the Saigicor HPC in Barbados and arrived in St Vincent “ready for the challenge”. “The camp in Barbados went really well and as a team we are confident of doing well here in St Vincent as we face the challenge against the Aussies.

We have some training sessions before the first match so that will give us some more time to everything in place,” said the former West Indies captain and batting legend. (windiescricket)
