Wedding Expo kicks off second phase of the competition

Wedding Expo ‘Race to the altar’ 2016 kicked off the second phase of the competition, which saw the final five contestants vying for the top prize of Gy$3,000,000 all-inclusive wedding in this the 8th Annual Wedding Expo.

The top five contestants are Hamilton Holder and Karen McAllister, Clay Harris and Maelisha Kellman, Steven Persaud and Monalisa Sammy, Troy Archer and Karen Alexander and Mutola Caesar and Eldon Pile.

This event hosted by Roraima Airways saw the contestants competing in activities ranging from mountain biking, kayaking, forest expedition and couple communication at the Arrowpoint Nature Resort.

This part of the competition was created to provide the judges an opportunity to examine the interaction of the couples while they are under stressful situations.

Criteria that the judges will also be looking at when determining the winner is “Good ambassadorship”, affordability of a wedding, and chemistry.

Other activities slated for the remainder of the competition are visits to their homes, media blitz and the talent segment at the Valentine’s Day Special at the Roraima Duke Lodge.

Public voting has commenced since Tuesday on the Roraima Wedding Expo Facebook page. The announcement of the winning couple will be done at the Roraima Duke Lodge Valentine’s Day Special.

This annual event is aimed at showcasing Guyana’s diverse wedding industry and at the same time promoting the country as a wedding destination.
