A cultural advocate, Claire Ann Goring uses her talent and commitment to promote and preserve the culture of her homeland through her exquisite handmade greeting cards.
She has developed her own line of handmade greeting and inspirational cards, which she shares with the world via her company, Hybiskus Creations. As a graphic artist, her creative talent can be seen in her production of magazines, brochures, newspapers and in marketing campaigns.
From her studio in Canarsie, Brooklyn, New York, Claire is inspired to create the most exquisite and unique invitations and greeting cards that are meant to uplift and motivate. She is dedicated to creating original, breathtaking, one-of-a-kind designs that illustrate her passion to create and inspire.
Known for her unique designs, Claire creates art with sophisticated and classic lines that become a timeless keepsake for friends and family to enjoy for years to come. Each invitation or greeting card she makes is a piece of art.
Claire’s life is all about living a creative lifestyle, sharing inspiration, making things and having fun.  Her invitations and greeting cards are designed with beautiful embellishments and accessories for every occasion.
Her custom-made design invitations are not your ordinary mail. Each item she creates is assembled from scratch. Her creations are a pleasure to open and unforgettable keepsakes. The artist has also received accolades for her winning costume designs in Guyana and the U.S. at the Labour Day Carnival in Brooklyn. She has produced shows with talent from around the Caribbean and is the CEO of her own company, Hybiskus Creations, a company dedicated to developing and distributing art, craft and other creative products.
Claire’s passion for promoting the culture of her homeland Guyana is evident by her introduction of the annual Guyana Folk Festival to North America. One of the founders of the Guyana Cultural Association of New York, she is the cultural director and one of the creative minds behind the annual Guyana Folk Festival. She continues to work with other members of the association to promote, propagate and preserve Guyana’s cultural heritage.
The prolific designer is also president of Friends of Victoria Village Diaspora, an organization dedicated to the redevelopment of Victoria Village, the first village bought by freed slaves after emancipation in Guyana. She feels it is her mission to teach young men and women that their foreparents were conscious, organized and deliberate agents in the transformation of themselves and their future.
Claire has been honoured for her work in promoting the culture of Guyana by the Guyana Cultural Association of New York Inc. the Brooklyn Borough President, the New York City Council, the Guyana Tri-State Alliance, the Guyana American Economic and Cultural Organization, the Allied Organization, the Caribbean Community and by the Guyana Day Committee.
