Just what does Phed X have in store for his fans? After the success of his mega hit “Welcome to Guyana,” his latest single, due to be released soon, is produced by the legendary reggae artist, ED Robinson, the highly acclaimed singer of “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door.” Ed Robinson has worked with Snoop Dogg, Warren G, Shabba Ranks and Super Cat, just to name a few. The new single is titled, “Dancehall Nice Again” and is aimed to bring dancehall back to its original form.
He said “I hired Ed to produce this project for me because I believe he’s a musical genius. I absolutely enjoy working with him. With my knowledge of dancehall and teaming up with Ed on the production of the riddim, we used the basic reggae instruments. Music is very exhilarating and challenging at the same time. But that’s part of the industry; you can’t stick to a certain vibe. You have to explore yourself and find what has significant meaning and just belt it out. I did “Dancehall Nice Again” because I feel that the music nowadays doesn’t give the dance vibes of reggae like it used to.”
On April 6th, Phed X performed live for Operation Dream Catchers, the fourth annual dinner and dance fundraiser in New York, which aims to help raise money for hospitals in Guyana. In May, Phed X plans to take a trip to Jamaica to aid two schools in Kingston and Negril by providing the children and staff with school materials.
