Officials of Three Rivers Kids Foundation pose with children who were sponsored for surgeries in India

Guyanese Canadian Charity group, Three Rivers Kids Foundation, has sponsored a group of eight Guyanese to have heart surgeries done in India. The children of various ethnic and religious backgrounds, were brought to Toronto from their home country for an overnight connection flight and then they were flown to New Delhi India to have their surgeries performed at the Max Heart and Vascular Center. The Three Rivers Kids Foundation was established in 2005 by Canadian based Guyanese in the greater Toronto area. Since then, 86 patients have had a new lease on life through the organisation’s initiatives. The organisation, headed by retired nurse Ms. Jeanette Singh, supplies medications, wheel chairs, prescription eye glasses, hearing aids etc. on a regular basis to Guyanese patients. This time it has sponsored a larger mission to India.

The organisation engages in fundraisers in Toronto and other parts of Canada where Guyanese are settled and the proceeds are used to help offset expenses for medical expenses of those selected for surgeries or treatment abroad or for other charitable causes.
