In keeping with its rich established tradition, the Sunrise Cricket Club (SCC) of New York in partnership with EZJet Airline makes another of its tours abroad. This year, 2012, SCC returns to Guyana after a four-year sabbatical.
Team Sunrise will tour Guyana from September 26th to October 3rd 2012. During their stay, the team will engage and compete with long-standing local cricket teams with an eye towards fostering new relationships.

Sunrise will take on in their opener, Jai-Hand Cricket Club of Albion, followed by Windsor Forest CC, then Sterling Products LLC and in its final match, a combined Georgetown Secondary School team in a T/20 affair.
Leading the Sunrise Cricket organisation for this tour is the new-elected Vice President, 25-year -old Joshua “Josh” Harbajan.
Josh as he is known in the cricketing circles in and around Queens, New York, has taken on quite a challenging role in leading the Sunrise team. Josh was born in New York City, and attended Long Island University where he graduated with a Bachelors degree in Radiologic Technology and is currently employed by Long Island Jewish Hospital.
Josh has been involved with cricket since he was 5 years old. He took on a more active role in his own Universal Cricket Club at age 16. More recently, Josh has demonstrated the same leadership qualities with the Sunrise club. As a result, the team’s Board of Trustees voted to have him serve as vice president. In a brief interview with this publication he explained that his goal is to continue building on the family and friendly atmosphere that Sunrise has had for many years, and to bring more competitive cricket back to the New York community so that youths will get more exposure to the game.
