Star of the week: Alana Benjamin

Guyana Times International ran into this stunningly gorgeous, international model at GUYEXPO 2013 (NY) a few days ago. Daughter of a proud Guyanese mother, the Trinidad and Tobago born model was part of the dynamic lineup of Guyanese designers; Sonia Noel and Gem Fraser, who jointly staged a high-octane fashion show in support of GUYEXPO 2013 on Saturday, June 29th, at the Queens College campus. star of the week2
Alana ripped the runway alongside Miss Guyana World 2012, Arti Cameron, and other models including Marieme Diop of Senegal, and Delven Adams of Guyana.
This beauty is no stranger to causes involving Guyana (Guyana being her mother’s homeland), she has modeled designs by Michelle Cole, Roger Gary, and Sonia Noel at the recently held Guyana 47th Independence Day anniversary celebrations at the Brooklyn Borough Hall, NYC.
Alana is not only a fashion model, but she has also been involved in multiple hair shows in the United States.
Asked how she maintains her stunning physique, Alana switched on her 100-watt smile, revealing that her physical conditioning is directly related to the hard work she puts in as a member of the Unity Community Center of Camden, New Jersey, where she participates in both martial arts and African dancing.
The aspiring counsellor wants to work with troubled teens and hopes to one day open a pre-school. Having already completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, this talented humanitarian is well on her way to achieving success!!! She is inspired and supported by her caring mother, Sandra London, who hails from Pike Street, Kitty, Georgetown, Guyana.
