Slingerz and Wildfire Entertainment join forces

The top guns of Slingerz Entertainment and Wildfire Entertainment, Javed Ali and Jonathan Beepat, announced on Thursday their decision to merge their entertainment companies to give Guyanese a better entertainment experience come 2011.

Beepat said that both he and Ali love to promote entertainment as a hobby. “We both have full-time business and jobs, but our love for entertainment motivates us to pursue the things we like to do,” he added.

He explained that this new partnership will only make things easier and better for both companies, since they now have twice the manpower, twice the ideas, twice the capital; so it is going to be twice the “niceness!”

Slingerz Family is a popular sound system. It is Ali’s passion to attend various dances and sporting activities to observe how things can be better in the entertainment business, while Beepat loves to put together major events and watch them evolve.

Slingerz has been around for approximately nine years, and hails from Vergenoegen, East Bank Essequibo. They have held numerous shows and events throughout those years, including the popular annual Vergenoegen Village Day, the anniversary event at Joe Vieira Park, and the Car and Bike Show.

Wildfire Entertainment, on the other hand, is the latest major entertainment entity to emerge,  and has hosted a number of quality concerts with major artistes, and has managed events for corporate clients such as Nestle, Digicel, GT&T, and the ICC World 20/20 Cricket Committee.

In addition, it hosts the annual All Stars Basketball Weekend, which featured the And 1 Team this year; while their sister company, Wildfire Productions, is involved with many high quality ads, documentaries, music videos, and media productions.

The first major event of their partnership will be the ninth annual Vergenoegen Village Day, slated for December 25, with Banks DIH on board. It will feature “Gully God” Mavado, Serani, Natural Black, D’Hitman, Shakti Strings, 71 Sounds; and as a gift from Wildfire Entertainment, people can expect to see another special surprise guest Jamaican artiste on Christmas Night in Vergenoegen. With these two combining forces, Guyanese should be prepared for a wild, hot and slinging 2011!
