Set sail for Guyana

A new adventure begins in Guyana’s Essequibo River, as yachting appears poised to become a new tourism venture for the country.

Around July/August 2010, several yachts arrived to moor at a resort along the Essequibo River to escape the Caribbean hurricane season and herald the start of what the tourism minister has called “Yachting tourism” in Guyana.

The unique ecotourism and secure yachting waterways, as well as the world-renowned Guyanese hospitality are expected to lure more yachting enthusiasts. So all hands bear-a-hand and head to the distinctive beauty of Guyana’s peaceful paradise along its main rivers.
