Region 10 gets fair share of national cake

I write this letter to let the people know that contrary to what is being peddled by some politicians, there is no race, hate or discrimination against the people of Region 10. Some groups want the nation to believe this.

Editor, I know for a fact that in the past, large sums of monies, intended for developmental works, especially in Linden, were returned to the government’s coffers by the PNCR-dominated Regional Democratic Council. This was a carefully executed plan by the PNCR to deliberately stagnate the development process in the area, and put the blame on central government, for not doing anything for the people of Linden.

This time around, Sir, more than Gy$2.1 billion has been thrown into the housing sector in Linden, to ensure that residents benefit from the provision of house lots and related services. As recent as last week Thursday, about 1000 house lots were distributed in the Amelia’s Ward area in Linden. This housing scheme, the latest to be established by the government, is just one of the many that have spread across the country.

Now the people of Linden know that refusing government’s subventions as was done in the past would only lead to underdevelopment and backwardness and it is they who are the ones that would be left behind.
