Two sisters of a very prominent Guyanese family in Toronto graduated with medical degrees last month in Canada. They join their famous father, Dr Vivian Rambihar and their mom, Dr Vanessa Rambihar, as the third and fourth in the family to become medical doctors.
Sherryn (left) is a specialist in Cardiology like her father, while her sister, Nadira, is a Physiatrist (physical and rehabilitation medicine) and internal medicine. Nadira’s husband, Andrew Howlett (right) also graduated with a degree in Psychiatry. They became Fellows of the prestigious Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
The ceremony took place in Ottawa in the presence of The Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, who received an Honorary Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The occasion was considered a first where three members of one family graduated at the same time.
