Policeman returns Gy$ 2M left in airport washroom to Canadian citizen

At a time when both their salary and confidence are low, a policeman returned to a Canadian citizen some Gy$ 2 million and a Canadian passport which he had left in a washroom at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport on Tuesday. According to information received, Abdool Halleem, 78, a Guyanese-Canadian citizen about 16: 00h checked in on a Caribbean Airlines Flight (CAL) destined for Canada when nature called. He reportedly went to a nearby washroom and after he was finished, he left a bag containing his Canadian passport and the Cdn$ 10,500 behind.
After a few minutes, he realised that he did not have the bag, and as such, lodged a complaint with the relevant authorities by which time detective constable, 19949 Alvin Fraser returned the bag with the items.
The police rank, in carrying out his duty in a professional manner, did not hesitate to return the money to the elderly man, who in turn praised the officer and said he wished that all the members of the force were like Fraser. Further information received revealed that the elderly man was extremely generous to the rank.
The rank reportedly told officials that he went to use the washroom, but upon entry, he saw the bag which had the name “Abdool Halleem” and he immediately rushed out to alert his superiors and the duty officers, since he knew it had to belong to an outgoing passenger. He was also praised by his superiors and subordinates alike for his honesty. Fraser has been with the force for a while and is described as a dedicated officer.
