Photographer killed after vehicle topples into trench

A photographer lost his life in a tragic accident at Reliance Public Road, Essequibo Coast Saturday night after he lost control of his car. Dead is Dennis Persaud, 43, of La Belle Alliance, Essequibo Coast who was driving along the Reliance Public Road at about 23:30h when the accident occurred.

The father of three reportedly lost control of the car and it toppled off the road and landed in a nearby canal. This newspaper was told that upon hearing the noise, residents rushed to investigate.

They pulled the severely injured man out of the wreckage and rushed him to the Suddie Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The Police have launched an investigation into the accident.

Speaking with this newspaper, the dead man’s wife Lilawattie Persaud recalled that she last saw her husband at about 20:00h on Saturday night. She said she was informed about the incident by residents from the area. Struggling with tears, the woman described her husband as hard working and loving.

Only recently Essequibo Technical Institute lecturer Crisnauth Cassinauth, and Lakeram Persaud lost their lives in a road accident.
