She appeared before Magistrate Leslie Sobers at the Providence Magistrate’s Court. Williams pleaded guilty to the charge, which stated that on Wednesday, October 9 at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri, she had 180 grams of cocaine in her possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Williams was nabbed as she was about to board Delta Airlines flight DL384, destined for the John F Kennedy International Airport. According to an airport official, Williams was subjected to a “pat down” search after the Walkthrough Metal Detector (WMD) did not alarm as Williams passed through.
After the security officer felt a bulky area near the defendant’s private parts, Williams provided an explanation, but the security officer was reportedly not satisfied, so the defendant was given a secondary search in the search room within the Cheddi Jagan International Airport.
The search revealed that she had two balloons hidden in her genitalia. Guyana Times International understands that Williams stayed at the Tropical View Hotel, 33 Delph Street, Campbellville.
