NEW GPC donates Gy$1M to K&S tourney

NEW GPC Inc., the country’s leading pharmaceutical manufacturing company, on Tuesday demonstrated its continued support of the Kashif and Shanghai football tournament. The company presented Gy$1M to the organisation. The money will be divided into three categories with Gy$750,000 being used for the third prize while the remaining Gy$250,000 will be used for the printing of invitations and advertisements (TV broadcast).
The handing over ceremony was held at the company’s head office located at Farm, East Bank Demerara (EBD). The company’s Marketing Manager, Trevor Bassoo lauded the organisers of the tournament, noting that the sport has significantly improved as a result of the annual year-end competition.
“New GPC Inc. has been impressed with the Kashif and Shangai tournament over the years. We are now in our sixth year with Kashif and Shanghai and we believe the tournament has been delivering quality sport and entertainment to the Guyanese people.”
Bassoo added that the competition has forced players “to elevate themselves and become more competitive” thereby lifting the standard of local football.
Meanwhile, Kashif Muhammad of the Kashif and Shanghai Organisation thanked the company for supporting the tournament for the sixth year.
“On behalf of K&S Organisation, we want to thank New GPC Inc. for their involvement in our tournament for the past six years. We are very satisfied to know that we have raised the confidence in the business community, especially GPC, and it has been growing over the years. We are very happy that they can do the third place for us. We are very grateful.”
