Naya Zamana 16 billed for August 19

On August 19, 2011, the National Cultural Centre will once again be the venue for a thunderous explosion of talent, colours and well-choreographed dances by Dr Vindhya Persaud and Trishala Persaud when the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha presents its 2011 Naya Zamana concert. This is an event that has attracted sold out audiences for the past 16 years.

Naya Zamana 16, also called “Dance Sab Ke Liye” – “dances for everyone” – is slated to be a mind-blowing event, with at least 60 dancers from the Dharmic Nrityasangh entertaining the audience. The youngest performers are four years old, and one can rest assured that the audience will be left calling for more.

Authentic Kathak and other classical Indian dances will be performed on stage. The cast will also perform Bollywood, contemporary and folk dances on magnificent and colourful sets created by Andrew Arts.

The dancers will be dressed in costumes to enhance the kaleidoscope on stage with attractive colours and designs.

Tickets for the event cost Gy$2,000 and Gy$1,500, and are available at Red Mango Gift Centre on Robb Street; Bhagwan’s on Water Street; Dharmic Kendra in Prashad Nagar; National Cultural Centre; and at the Murti Shop and General Store at Meten-Meer-Zorg, West Coast Demerara. The Dharmic Kendra can also be contacted on telephone number 227-6181 for tickets.

This event is made possible by Digicel; Guyana Times; TVG 28; National Communications Network (NCN 11) and Jai Signs and Auto Designs at Independence Boulevard, La Penitence, Georgetown.
