New York police are searching for the driver and car involved in a deadly hit-and-run accident in Richmond Hill in the wee hours of Sunday morning in which 47-year-old Rohan Singh, a Guyanese, was killed.

Sources say that the hit and run accident occurred on Liberty Avenue and 108th Street in Richmond Hill. Reports say that Singh was hit so hard that his body flew in the air and hit a post under the A train and the driver just kept on driving.

Within minutes Singh was rushed to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The NYPD say they are searching for a Maxima black Sedan with damage to the front as investigations continue.

Eyewitnesses say that Singh had just left the Two Way Deli on 108th Street to purchase a beer. “After he tried to walk back to the bar, this black car ran him over and did not stop,”

the Two Way Deli manager explained. “I saw [Singh] right there in the street. It was quick, the car was going like 70 miles per hour,” he related.

Singh’s family and friends are angry, and are calling for justice to prevail. They are calling on the driver of the car to surrender to law enforcement officials and for mechanic shops to report the vehicle if it is brought for repairs.
