Minister Harmon expressed his pride in seeing a young Guyanese receive such a prestigious award and expressed an interest in having his office in Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) work closely with Langevine.
Having returned to Guyana hoping to build her network in Guyana, Langevine said the Minister of State’s office was an excellent place to start.
“He’s reaching out to the people and I love that. With him on my side, I know I will be able to reach an even greater audience… I’m thankful for the Minister’s support. It’s going to really take the project on a platform where more persons will be able to be more open to the work… [and] the support that we’re providing,” she said.
Langevine was selected for the Queen’s Young Leaders Award for her work with bereaved and underprivileged children and families in Guyana through the Guyana Golden Lives Organisation, of which she is the founder. She received her award at Buckingham Palace in London last week.
