Mentally unstable man attacks mother, gets 3 months jail

Timothy Johnson of 1946 North Ruimveldt, Georgetown was on Wednesday arraigned before Georgetown Magistrate Fabayo Azore, charged with maliciously wounding his mother, Arette Johnson, at their place of residence.
According to Prosecutor Simone Payne, on the day of the incident, the virtual complainant (VC) Arette Johnson had placed a glass of water above her door, but it fell and broke when the accused entered the house. He then reportedly took up a shard of the glass and attacked his mother, cutting her multiple times on her neck before calmly retiring to his bedroom.
The woman reported the matter to the East La Penitence Police Station, and the defendant was arrested and charged.
Questioned on the reason for his action, the mentally unstable 26-year-old responded: “Where is my mother? She with a man! That is why I cut she neck! So I deh here because she deh with a man!”
He was then sentenced to three months’ imprisonment.
