Line and Length to broadcast T20 matches live

The first ever Jam Zone Master’s Cup T20 Cricket competition will be broadcast live by regional cricket broadcasters Line and Length network. According to PRO for Jam Zone Master’s Cup T20 Cricket competition, Sean Devers, the regional cricket broadcasters Line and Length signalled their interest to broadcast the matches live from Guyana to the rest of the region last Wednesday, July 27.

Devers noted that interest in the competition, which has been sanctioned by the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) and Guyana Cricket Board (GCB), is very high among Caribbean fans; and, as such, this has influenced Line and Length to come on board.

The four-match competition is scheduled for the Guyana National Stadium at Providence on Friday, August 12 & Sunday, August 14; and all of the leading West Indian T20 players are expected to participate.

National T20 champions, Universal DVD Berbice Titians, Georgetown Pitbulls, New Line Cavaliers and Hits and Jams Super Stars are the teams in the mega event.

This competition has been organised by Jam Zone Entertainment as a part of their 2011 Jam Zone Summer Break, which includes concerts at Providence featuring American singer Trey Songz and top dance hall performers Mavado and Vybz Kartel. The inaugural Master’s Cup is expected to attract over 15,000 fans on each night. The first game is scheduled to be played from 17:00h and the second from 21:00h on each night. Organisers disclosed that preparations are going full steam ahead, and the Hits and Jams Super Stars have been the first team to be officially announced.

Wicketkeeper Tyrell Tull, who played in Guyana’s championship winning 2006 Stanford T20 team, will lead the Hits and Jams squad, which includes four West Indian ‘overseas’ players.

The vice captain is Leon Johnson, who played three ODIs in 2008; while Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, Andre Russell, and Danza Hyatt are the international stars in the line-up.

Former Guyana players Orin Bailey and Gavin Nedd are the coaches working with the Hits and Jams side.

Hits and Jams Super Stars’ team reads: Tyrell Tull (Captain), Leon Johnson (vice captain), Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, Andre Russell, Danza Hyatt, Robin Bacchus, Troy Gonsalves, Seon Daniels, Raj Nanan, Krishna Deosarran, Quincy Ovid-Richardson, Jeetendra Sookdeo, and Dayanand Roopnarine.
