The Guyana Trade and Investment Exhibition – GuyTIE, which is the country’s first ever business-to-business event, on Wednesday, began with a Cocktail Reception to welcome delegates, at the Marriott Hotel in Georgetown.
Over 100 buyers from across the world and 55 exhibitors were received by the Minister of Business, Dominic Gaskin and other GuyTIE organisers, the Department of Public Information (DPI) reported.
“I welcome all visitors to Guyana. We are here to show off our Guyanese hospitality. I hope your visit here will be a useful one and beneficial to your businesses. I want to thank the steering committee for pulling together such an event,” Minister Gaskin said.
The minister expressed optimism that fruitful partnerships will be established.
The delegates were also treated to a number of cultural performances.
The event is a collaboration between the Government of Guyana and several private sector organisations. (DPI photos)
