Sudesh Fitzgerald outplayed his opponents and copped the top prizes in a specially arranged competition at Mark’s Darts Club at Brummel Place, Stabroek, last Sunday. |
Fitzgerald teamed up with Ravi Budhu of East Bank Demerara to win the Draw Doubles by beating off the challenge of Mark Persaud and Anil Latchman.
The pair then defeated Colin France and Anthony Bissoondyal in an upset victory, to book their place in the final against Norman Madhoo and Kenneth Gouveia, whom they easily defeated to cart off the title.
In the Open Singles, Fitzgerald won comfortably against his Better Hope club mates Nicholas Seetaram and Devanand Singh, before overcoming Madhoo 3- 2 in the final.
Trophies and cash were presented to the outstanding players on behalf of sponsors, Mark Persaud and Sunflower Hotel, by veteran player Clarence Walcott.
