Guyanese Clive “The Punisher” Atwell will put his unbeaten record on the line against Venezuela’s Rafael “El Porto” Hernandez in the main bout of the “Firestorm” boxing card billed for the Princess Hotel and Casino on April 20.
The duo will clash for the vacant Caribbean Boxing Federation (CABOFE) featherweight title over 12 rounds, with the winner gaining direct entry into the lucrative World Boxing Council (WBC) Cup of Champions slated to start in June this year.

In the main supporting bout, Jamaica’s Sakima Mullings will take on Barbados’ Miguel Antoine for the CABOFE welterweight title, which has been vacated by Guyanese Simeon “Candyman” Hardy, whose camp decided against entering the WBC Cup of Champions on Thursday.
The other fights on the professional segment of the card will pit U.S.A-based Guyanese Elton “The Bully” Dharry against local boy Hewley Robertson for the vacant bantamweight title of Guyana, while Mahmoud “The Extractor” Loul of Syria will face Berbician Derick Richmond in a four-round super middleweight clash.
On the amateur side, Nandkumar Singh will fight an opponent who is yet to be named, while a female match-up will complete that segment of the card, which is slated to commence at 20: 00 hours.
Atwell, who is quickly building a reputation as a knockout artist, has chalked up nine wins from 10 fights, with five knockouts and a draw against Mark Austin.
He is currently the CABOFE light welterweight champion and national featherweight champion.
His opponent, Hernandez, also has an impressive record with 15 wins (13 KOs), three losses and two draws in 20 encounters.
In the main supporting clash, the 30-year-old Mullings boasts a record of 11 wins (seven KOs) and one loss, while Antoine, unbeaten in Guyana, has notched up 17 victories (nine KOs), one loss and a draw.
Dharry, who last month defeated Jamaican Rudolph Hedge, is on a 10-fight winning streak, and would start as the overwhelming favourite against Robertson.
Dharry has 12 wins (six KOs), five losses and a draw, while Robertson is yet to taste victory after three outings.
Loul, who started his career with an impressive second round knockdown of Patrick Boston last month, will look to continue in the same vein against Richmond.
