EZjet to stun passengers with surprise Christmas promotions

EZjet airline is set to stun passengers for Christmas with its surprise promotions, acting Chief Executive Officer Rosalinda Rasul said. The airline also started selling passes for its “All You Can fly” promotion whereby passengers can fly all month for one low fare.
“Every passenger is going to get a gift (this Christmas); every single passenger and it’s going to be a gift that is so unique. You don’t have to do anything, just come and buy your ticket and you will get that gift – it’s a stunner,” an enthusiastic Rasul told Guyana Times International during an interview.
“There will be extra flights once we get the loads out for Christmas, because for Christmas the loads are heavier coming in because of winter season over there and because of winter, people don’t want to go into the cold, so we got to understand the market: how it operates at that point in time. Winter or no winter, every passenger’s going to get a gift,” she added.
She stated that the company has noticed comments on social networking sites linking the promotions to the recent lawsuit against its owner, Sonny Ramdeo. She dubbed the comments malicious and completely “ridiculous”.
“….what I do and what my office do is we sit, we go through the promotions, we brainstorm what is it we want to offer to the public and of course, we do it in such a way that we make a profit at the end, because you don’t want to do a promotion to put yourself out of business,” she stated.
She explained that before the airline launches a promotion, it researches the effectiveness and the economic benefits of the marketing campaign. She added that the company calculates every aspect of the promotion, keeping in mind the objectives of delivering quality customer service and making a profit to ensure their existence.
Rasul stated that the promotions announced and offered to customers are all tested and “viable” promotions. “All these promotions we have are promotions that are tested by other carriers all over the world and they are beneficial,” she stated.
“Earlier this year we had our all bags fly-free promotion. We did our math, because if you take x amount of weight obviously it would impact your fuel. So we didn’t just sit there and dream up we are going to give all these bags and weights to passengers just like that. We did our math and calculated it, and then realised that these bags at these weights will be okay for operations, because it will have the minimal impact on our fuel consumption,” Rasul added.
