Essequibo man died from brain hemorrhage – autopsy

Family members of 23-year-old Navendra Ramdial can lay him to rest in peace now that the autopsy confirmed he died from brain hemorrhage as a result of blunt trauma to the head; an injury family members said he sustained from a fall.

The autopsy was performed by Government Pathologist, Dr Nehaul Singh on Wednesday at the Suddie mortuary in Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam). The trauma was as a result to Ramdial falling down a flight of stairs on Sunday night.

Reports indicated that Ramdial, who was an employee of Imam Bacchus and Sons Ltd died tragically while venturing up the stairs of his fiancée’s Queenstown residence.

His father, Polander Ramdial had related that his son left to visit his fiancée at about 16:00h on Valentine’s Day. He said his son, who was scheduled to get married in August, had purchased ice cream and took it over to his intended in-law’s home. The grieving father related he was shocked to receive the news that his son fell and injured himself during the visit.

Navendra Ramdial sustained a deep cut to the back of his head from the fall. He was rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police visited the scene following the young’s man death and took statements from those who were present when the incident occurred. Ramdial was the youngest son of his parents.
