Minister of State Joseph Harmon has announced the decision to work to incorporate the operations of the National Data Management Authority (NDMA) into its massive E-Governance operations.

During a recent visit to the NDMA office attached to the University of Guyana, Turkeyen Campus, the Minister was informed of the unit’s mandate as well as a number of challenges facing that authority.

Meanwhile, in light of this process, Minister Harmon recapped his official visit to the operations in August 2015 where he found the operations of the unit to be apprising.

According to a press statement on Monday, the General Manager of the operations Godfrey Proctor informed the Minister that the NDMA has not had a Board appointed in over two decades which resulted in the work of the authority being severely hampered.

Minister Harmon noted that government in its review of the Public Service ICT will restore the NDMA and similar bodies so that they can play a meaningful role in the administration’s E-Governance initiatives.
