Demerara Bank Limited on Monday opened a branch on the East Coast of Demerara with a full range of banking services and products.

The state-of-the-art banking facility is located at Lot 3 Public Road, Le Ressouvenir, and aims to service the needs of the growing East Coast population.
At the inauguration of the bank’s Diamond, East Bank Demerara facility earlier this year, President Bharrat Jagdeo encouraged commercial banks to provide banking facilities on the East Coast as soon as possible so as to ease traffic congestion in the capital city.
In a release, the bank acknowledged the lack of any banking facility between Rosignol and Georgetown and said it worked assiduously to open an East Coast branch with all modern facilities in a short space of time”. The bank is certain that the facility will be convenient to persons residing along the coast.
The new branch was commissioned by Demerara Bank Chairman Yesu Persaud in the presence of directors and well wishers.
