Dem suddenly turn “bat” and “dumb-boy”

Ow, ah begging yuh’ll fuh bear lil bit and let de “taawa” knock and de bell ring lil mo about de cricket story here. Is everyday is something new. Match get move, two teams name, door open, door lock back, board officials get lock inside, padlock damage and cutting gas done. Is sheer action at Bourda. And people think that after Test cricket stop playing deh, things would ah been boring. With all de fussing and fight, de board people seh dem not cooperating with any investigation about alleged financial irregularities. Well, that is thing fuh think about. How can a organisation and it managers publicly seh dem not interested in financial scrutiny? This is de same board that sometime back seh it like City Hall and deh in de “red” because it ain’t gat money. Like de mayor, dem always “jetting” despite de “redness”!

Anyway, this is de same board that get accuse of shoddy wuk after it build some building fuh “improve” de game. This is de same board where a man get he face burn up because he talk about de financial story. If de government did seh it not interested in financial accountability, de whole cabal from de “key” party and de “hands- up” party would protest and mek noise. Freddie and he cabal would join in. That story would get “go-tay” everyday pun de opposition mouthpieces pun TV and in two papers. Dem would call in de UN, de Arab League, de African Union and even “Tante Merle”. But, dem turn like “bat” and “dumb-boy” at de cricket board. It can only mean that dem support de lack ah financial accountability there.

That ain’t surprising, because when de “hands-up” party was in Office using de Coconut Tree, dem didn’t know de two words, “financial accountability”. Since de elections, dem hollering fuh review some projects and so. But how come dem not calling fuh review de cricket board and it finances? Isn’t this crazy? Is de board sacred? Is de members above accountability? Now we can’t see de Australians play at de stadium. Cricket and fans lose. Money gone down de drain. Is de board members really interested in de development ah de game? De present horrible condition of de famous Bourda ground look like a reflection of de administration of de game. After all, de board office is at Bourda! Ting-a-ling-a-ling… Friend tell friend… mattie tell mattie!
