Construction commences on GOA’s ‘Golden Project’

Construction on phase one of the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) headquarters commenced at tract GOA Block XXX, Plantation Liliendaal, East Coast Demerara on Wednesday. A visit to the site revealed that foundation works were in progress. The complex is expected to cost the GOA about US $1M, of which phase one costs Gy$ 47,678,750.

This phase of work was awarded to C Deokie and Sons Contracting Services and entails the laying of the foundation and the casting of the floor slab and is estimated to be completed in 14 weeks.
The state-of-the-art two-storey building will house several offices, boardrooms, a hall that can occupy around 350 persons at once among several other key important components necessary for such a facility.
