Dear Editor,
Lately, there have been many discussions pertaining to the addressing of companies guilty of breaching labour laws. It is now necessary that action be taken against those companies who fail to implement the minimum wage law.
Many employees have made complaints as it relates to this matter and it is time for the Labour Ministry to address this issue accordingly, in order to ensure compliance. Employers who fail to comply with the law should be brought to light and made an example of.
A large security firm has been suspected of not adhering to the minimum wage law and is expected to undergo scrutiny by the relevant authorities. The Labour Ministry stated that they have given employers adequate time to adapt to the new labour law and will now prosecute any employer who failed to implement the minimum wage law.
There are many instances where untrained and unskilled individuals are underpaid. The minimum wage law is expected to offer some amount of justice to these individuals and so it is necessary for the ministry to represent these individuals by addressing complaints and further prosecuting employers who fail to adhere.
Sincerely,
Florence Harmon
