5 swimmers make CARIFTA qualifying times

Leon Seaton Jr, Lian Winter, Raekwon Noel, Aleka Persaud and Patrice Mahaica have managed to qualify for the CARIFTA Games Swimming which will be held in Kingston, Jamaica from March 30 to April 3. Their qualification came after a productive meeting in the pool over the weekend when the Guyana Amateur Swimming Association held its Mashramani Long Course Meet at the National Aquatic Centre. FIFA’s Regional Director due for 4-day visit

The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) will host the recently appointed FIFA Regional Director, Marlon Glean, from February 23 to 26, 2018. During his four-day visit to Guyana, Glean will meet with the President and Executive Committee, visit the GFF’s National Training Centre and participate in the youth development programmes – visit to two GFF-Scotiabank Academy Training Centres (ATCs) and one GFF-Pele Alumni Frank Watson U15 Intra Association Tournament. Guyana Boxing Association (GBA) President Steve Ninvalle is of the view that female boxers are steadily improving to deal with the new demands of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
