Commemorating the lives of two legends – Dr Cheddi Jagan and Janet Jagan

In the March death anniversaries of two of Guyana’s most popular heroes, the Cheddi Jagan Commemoration Committee planned a number of activities at the Cheddi Jagan Research Centre in commemoration of freedom fighters Dr. Cheddi and Mrs Janet Jagan, who died March 6, 1997 and March 28, 2009 respectively. St. George’s Cathedral

Pointed arches, flying buttresses, vaulted ceilings…the interior of the St. George’s Cathedral is as commanding to the senses as is its exterior, sited at the crossroads of major Georgetown streets. Described as arguably the tallest wooden building in the world, it serves as a magnificent example of architectural heritage.
