CACCF says it is open to working with Guyanese businesses

The Caribbean-American Chamber of Commerce of Florida (CACCF) is willing to work with any business, including those in Guyana, in an effort to promote trade opportunities to benefit its membership.

Guyanese-born Carol Singh, CACCF president, told Guyana Times International that the organization she heads is looking at forging closer ties amongst its members.

CACCF helps to promote Caribbean businesses in Central Florida, and enables them to function more effectively and efficiently. The chamber also provides assistance in accessing funds, preparing business plans, and procuring advice and guidance for businesses.

Singh says the Chamber promotes these local businesses through monthly business after hours’ events to direct more traffic through their doors.  He stated that the organisation has built and/or strengthened alliances with groups and organizations that can help members take their businesses to the next level.

While CACCF operates solely in the Central Florida area, the Chamber’s president says she is not ruling out expanding to include Caribbean businesses in other states in the U.S.

This year, CACCF is focused on building alliances so it can offer more services to the community, and is working closely with the other Caribbean organizations to develop a strong and united front to engage the wider society.

In 2011, CACCF is expected to be affiliated with the Disney Minority Supplier Development Council and the Florida Chamber of Commerce. It is also part of the Caribbean Heritage Month project.
