BCB names Elite Under-15 and Under-19 training squads

The Berbice Cricket Board has named two elite junior squads as it forges ahead with its preparation for the upcoming Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Inter-county under-15 and 19 tournaments. The BCB, over the last four weeks, has organised four clinics for fast bowlers, wicket keepers, batsmen and spinners, along with coaching sessions around the entire county. A one-day cricket academy was also organised in the West Berbice area.

Chairman of the Junior Selection Committee Leslie Solomon and the coaches involved in the coaching programme selected the squad which would start intense preparation and coaching every week.

Chairman of the BCB Special Events Committee Hilbert Foster stated that the lists are not the final ones as more cricketers would be added based on performances in the upcoming Berbice Under-16 and Under-19 Inter-club and Inter-zones tournaments. He disclosed that the squad would train every week under coaches Michael Hyles, Winston Smith and Julian Moore.

The Elite junior training programme will be launched on March 4 at the Area H Ground in Rose Hall. The squads: Under-15 – Shimron Hetmyer, Leon Andrews, Keirre Henry, Deon Esau, Ashkay Homraj, Rishi Persaud, Brandon Persaud, Mahendra Mangal, Balchand Baldeo, Daniel Lewis, Parmanand Ramdhan, Richard Henry, Grisean Grant, Clifton Lindie, Karran Singh, Javid Seecharran, Tyrone Pooranauth, Jason Anderson, Kassim Khan, Gavin Moriah, Joshua Giddings, Enoch Carmichael, Vadanand Sugrim, Naren Ramoo, Joshua Rollins, Joshua Harrichand, Akeem Miller, Emanuel Seecharran, Mohan Deodat and Avishkar Rabindradat.
