Angels Caribbean Band rocks for 25th anniversary concert in Queens

The Angels Caribbean Band embarked on its 25th anniversary celebration with the Interfaith Harmony: A Time To Remember One Love/One God/One Music, concert celebrating World Interfaith Harmony Week.
The event was held at PS 268 in Jamaica Queens. The cast of musicians included the members of the Angels Caribbean Band accompanied by Geeta Bisram, Dexter Mohamed, Rick Ramdehal , Pally Dass and dance performances by the Taranng Dance Troupe. The show was directed and produced by Vinod, Geeta and VJ Bisram.
Over the past 25 years, the Angels Caribbean Band has had the honor of performing at various events celebrating diverse faiths, and has been able to experience first hand the positive energy generated when music and people of diverse religions come together to celebrate peace, love, unity, strength and harmony for the greater good of all mankind.
The event was the true definition of a show celebrating the diversity of mankind and the performances were flawless. Highlights of the show included a repertoire of Christian, Hindu , Muslim, various genre, popular and contemporary music showcasing the group’s ability to simultaneously sing complicated melodies while displaying the individual talents of several members including the band’s lead singers Geeta Bisram and Dexter Mohammed.

The concert used music and dance to showcase our diversity while promoting peace and unity through music. A highlight of the concert was the Taranng Dance Troupe’s extraordinary caliber of their talent and captivating performances to live music drawing on spiritual themes.

The program included several special guests including Pastor Malcolm Hall, Swami Shivesh from the America Sewashram Sangha, Sister Anjani from the World Spiritual Brahma Kumari Center, Imaam Arsalan aka Pradeep Kumar, from the Interfaith Council and popular radio and television personality, and Kenneth Hiram from Caribbean Voice, and keynote speaker attorney Andrea S. Ogle who reminded those in attendance that the teachings of all religions are based on peace, tolerance and harmony, and that humanity everywhere is bound together, not only by mutual interests, but by shared commandments to love God and one’s neighbor. He said the universal power of interfaith music enables us to gain insight into other religions and aspects of their culture and faith.This memorable and inspiring evening brought the community together to regenerate, peace and hope through music and unity.
