‘A Gift of Life’ programme making a huge difference

Earlier this week, Alex, accompanied by his mother arrived in New York from Haiti. Alex is soon expected to undergo heart surgery.
As is well known, Rotarians are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of others around the world; and when you put the concept of helping others ahead of helping yourself, anything is possible, hence the direct involvement of Rotarians in this endeavour. image
The Gift of Life program was founded by Rotary District 7250. The program has helped over 15000 children from 68 countries on 5 continents undergo successful life saving operations, and hopefully Alex will become another success story.
President Joe Iaboni, Karran Rupansingh, Rick Chetram and Rudy Harrygin were at the JFK airport to give Alex and his mom a warm welcome.
Special thanks to Ricky Lowe of the NYPD for volunteering part of his vacation time to transport Alex and his mom from JFK to the Ronald McDonald house by LIJ where they will be staying.
