An incredible safari

A Guyana safari trip is ideal for those who prefer slightly softer trips and who want to experience the amazing wildlife, take in incredible vistas and meet friendly people.

The experience lets you see rare and endangered animals, visit remote Amerindian villages and experience the adrenaline rush at Kaieteur Falls; considered to be the world’s tallest single drop waterfall.

For those who don’t want to rough it quite as much, the safari trip is perfect for you. You’ll visit Kaieteur Falls, Iwokrama, the Rupununi wetlands, Amerindian communities, savannah ranches and of course the pristine, primary rainforest that covers 80 percent of the country.

Guyana’s wildlife is as varied as it is amazing, and harbours many rare and endangered species. There’s no guarantee you’ll see a specific animal, but Guyana is home to the many giants, and you might be lucky to see them.

These giants include the anaconda, caiman, bushmasters (the world’s largest vipers), giant anteaters, giant armadillos, giant otters, turtles, harpy eagles (largest eagles in the world), jaguars (biggest cat in the Americas), macaws (scarlet, red and green, blue and yellow), capuchin, spider and howler monkeys, piranhas, giant sloths and toucans.

With the occasional night in a hammock, a clean, warm and soft bed is the norm, while travel would be by plane, boats and 4×4 vehicles.
