DPP advices further probe in Linden student stabbing

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has advised the Police to conduct further investigations into the stabbing of a 15-year-old Linden, Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice) student of the Linden Foundation Secondary School. What could have been a catastrophic disaster was on Friday averted by staffers of the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), who sprang into quick action to put out a fire which erupted in the facility’s psychiatric ward. MoPH to commence coronavirus detection training

The Public Health Ministry is putting measures in place to prevent any outbreak of the coronavirus in Guyana. This is according to Deputy Chief Medical Officer (DCMO) Dr Karen Gordon-Boyle. The coronavirus outbreak started in Wuhan, China, late last year and would have infected thousands to date. With a 16th discovery offshore Guyana, US oil giant ExxonMobil has boosted its estimated recoverable resource base to more than eight billion oil-equivalent barrels. Three-year-old Chayanne Parboo, who was diagnosed with leukaemia in December of last year, has been accepted to receive medical treatment overseas according to local charitable organisation Saving Hands Emergency Aid (SHEA).
