A father of four was hauled before the courts last week after he was accused of hitting his 10-year-old son to his head with a piece of pipe. Rudolph Lyken stood before Principal Magistrate Judy Latchman and denied the charge that was made out against him when it was read. Sheriff Street contractor could soon face sanctions

With eleven months already passed since a contract was signed with Sinohydro Corporation Ltd for the construction of the Mandela Avenue/Sheriff Street expansion project, no significant progress has been made, which adds to years of being delayed by various technicalities, as such, the Guyana Government is contemplating implementing possible sanctions. A Corentyne pedal cyclist, who is a mother of two, is now dead after she collided with a motorcycle on the Nigg Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice. Dead is Deslyne Gaitri Armogan, 49, of Lot 180 Nigg New Housing Scheme, while the injured motorcyclist has been identified as 20-year-old Arvin Ramnarace of Lot 105 Chesney, Berbice.
