Several Caribbean nationals were detained by police during a combined anti-crime exercise conducted in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad in recent weeks. Acting Superintendent Dale Ablack of the Port of Spain police division told reporters on Wednesday that the police, along with personnel from other agencies, held 96 people, who entered the country illegally. Despite promises that the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) expansion project would be completed by 2017, it seems that only one component of the project — the northeast expansion of the runway — will meet that deadline.
