The man who allegedly drove recklessly causing the death of Marvin Dodson, the 22-year-old Guyana Defence Force (GDF) Lance Corporal of Cross Street, Alexander Village, Georgetown, was on Thursday granted G$500,000 bail when he appeared at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court. 16 Guyanese among 96 illegal immigrants detained in Trinidad

Several Caribbean nationals were detained by police during a combined anti-crime exercise conducted in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad in recent weeks. Acting Superintendent Dale Ablack of the Port of Spain police division told reporters on Wednesday that the police, along with personnel from other agencies, held 96 people, who entered the country illegally. Completion date for airport expansion project now shift to 2018

Despite promises that the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) expansion project would be completed by 2017, it seems that only one component of the project — the northeast expansion of the runway — will meet that deadline.
