New York immigrant population reaches peak

New York City’s immigrant population has reached a new peak, with the percentage of foreign-born residents being the highest it has been in more than a century, according to a new report issued by the city. More than three million immigrants – 37.2 per cent of its population – were living in the city in 2011.
