The Human Services and Social Security Ministry, fulfilling its mandate to provide support to persons living with disabilities, on Monday signed a document which will see a brand new house being constructed for double amputee, Siddiqi Hanif. UN launches new programme to empower rural women and girls

The United Nations last Thursday launched a programme to empower poor rural women through economic integration and food security initiatives. The programme, “Accelerating Progress Toward the Economic Empowerment of Rural Women”, is a five-year initiative. The 12-year-old who delivered a baby girl Sunday morning at the Georgetown Public Hospital said a 16-year-old boy is the father of her child.
