Winners of the reinvigorated Guyana Visual Arts Competition that attracted over 200 entries for painting, drawing, sculpture, textiles, ceramics and photography were honoured at an award ceremony on Friday, at the National Cultural Centre (NCC). 11 Guyanese cadets promoted to ensigns

The Guyana Defence Force on Tuesday promoted 11 newly-commissioned cadet officers to ensigns at a parade held at Camp Ayanganna, Thomas Lands, Georgetown. Army Chief of Staff, Commodore Gary Best addressed the young officers, telling them that they were on the path of becoming leaders in their own right.
