A man was before Magistrate Allan Wilson on Monday, March 12, for a robbery in excess of Gy$ 9 million, committed on a businessman in January. Patricia Chase-Green, who has been acting as deputy mayor following the death of Robert Williams, was officially appointed the deputy mayor of the Georgetown municipality. She promised cordial relations and continued consultations with councillors and staff. The Venezuelan government has criticised the fact that the Commission on the Limits of Continental Shelf (CLCS) is considering a request made by Guyana last year to extend its continental shelf. United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Executive Secretary, Christina Figueres said efforts need to be doubled in a bid to fight climate change.
