The girls from Jamaica were crowned queens of West Indies cricket on August 14 when they beat Trinidad and Tobago by 30 runs to win the WICB Women’s League trophy. The Sophia Training Centre (STC) in Georgetown on July 10 held a graduation ceremony for 85 youths who successfully completed training in six areas under the Youth Entrepreneurial Skills Training (YEST) programme. The Agriculture Ministry has announced that it will be expanding the “Grow More Food” campaign following the successful implementation of its first phase, which began in 2008. On August 13, the ministry said the campaign will now be intensified to cater for greater challenges and support not only for small farmers, but expanding medium and large scale agro investments to benefit from opportunities resulting from the global food crisis.
