GECOM Chairman Dr Steve Surujbally has urged media operatives to renew their commitment to the code of conduct for the media, at the conclusion of a GECOM/Centre for Communications Studies Journalism workshop. The two-day workshop was aimed at educating journalists, editors and media proprietors on coverage and reporting of general elections. Dolphin caught by Essequibo fishermen

– later returned to ocean A six-foot dolphin was on Tuesday night spotted at the Better Success Foreshore at approximately 20:00h. The dolphin was brought to the shore by fishermen who placed it on display. A huge crowd gathered from neighbouring communities to see the mammal. The state-of-the-art dormitory at Charity that will accommodate some 200 students from riverine communities in Region Two on the Essequibo Coast is expected to be completed in another two months’ time.
