Guyanese being trafficked into T&T under CSME guise – union

Haitians, Jamaicans and Guyanese nationals are being “trafficked” into Trinidad and Tobago under the cover of the Caricom Single Market and Economy (CSME). They are being rapidly absorbed by registered private security firms. The United States’ Court of Appeals has denied a petition from an illegal Guyanese immigrant to review his deportation after he failed to voluntarily leave the country as he had promised. Agriculture Minister Robert Persaud on Friday, June 03, signed an agreement with the Republic of Congo to increase cooperation between the two countries in the field of forestry and wood industries.
